News Update:

Passing Parade
The funeral of one of our members Kenneth (Jock) Smith was held at the Bayside Memorial Gardens, Nikenbah on 03 March 2010. Many of our members attended to pay tribute to Ken and support the family in the celebrations of his life. All present laid a poppy on the casket to honour his memory.

Biennial General Meeting 2009
The BGM was conducted on 6 December 2009. Barry was elected as President for another term. The new committee was also elected with all standing again except Garry and Jack.
9 RAR Museum Collection
As part of the Museum Collection we have received many photographs and slides. We have commenced to upload these photos onto a photo sharing website. The first few are now available for you to access. View the list at Historical Photos>>

9 RAR Association National Website:

National President, Brian Vickery, has announced the re-launch of the 9 RAR National Website.  Please click on the new header below to visit the website.

The National Website has been revamped to give it a more modern look and to provide an up to date referral point for members to contact their relevant State Associations.   The two other main focal points are - to record and promote the history of the 9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment  AND  to commemorate the names of the fallen so they will never be forgotten.  

9 RAR Qld Website:
You will have noticed some changes to the format and content of the website. These changes have occurred due to several pages ( Battalion History and Honour Roll for Fallen) being transferred over to the new 9 RAR National website which was re-launched on 24 August 2009.

There has been a new menu item introduced to highlight the importance of the 9 RAR Museum Collection. Check out the Donor's Page>>

National President,
Brian Vickery
To Brian, our congratulations from the Qld Branch of the 9 RAR Association, on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. A well deserved achievement.

Passing Parade
The funeral for one of our members Graeme W. Seale was held at the Maroochdore Chapel on 27 April 2009. Terry Dex gave a very moving tribute.

ANZAC Day 2009 - Brisbane
The Dawn Service was conducted at the National Memorial Walk and was a very moving service. The address by Col John Taske (Rtd) was extremely well received.

The March was well attended with approx. 32 of our members marching behind our banner.

The new website for the Association was launched successfully on 26 January 09. There have been 1800 visits in the month of April.

The List of Attendees Page and Download pages have proven very popular.

Family Get Together 28 March 2010
The first family get together for the year will be on the 28 March 2010 at the National Memorial Walk, Enoggera starting at 11.00am. Food and drinks will be provided.
Mark it down in your diaries and we will forward out more info later. Look forward to seeing you there.
